Sunday, August 13, 2000 -Shut up and get to the pictures- When I got there, the tide was on its way out, which is why I didn't bring the pipes for the drainage system. I didn't have much time before the sun set so I decided to build a simple, two-tower fortress with an arch, then build a wall extending from it as far as I could before it got too dark to take photos. There was virtually no one on the beach. The only real excitement that occurred during construction was avoiding a near disaster with the arch. After it was completed, I noticed a crack that slowly appeared in the arch. From experience, I could tell I had dug too much sand out from under the arch and that this was a sign of doom, soon it would collapse. Without hesitation, I quickly filled part of the space below the arch with sand and saved it. I smoothed the crack over with a knife. The fortress itself was not exceptionally spectacular. What made this trip to the beach special was the sunset. And that is the real highlight of the photos of SF8130. I hope you enjoy them.
