My brother Ronbo had arrived in Hawaii on the 5th. For the next couple of days, we spent some time at Waimanalo Beach body boarding and saw the sites around Honolulu. Today Lisa, Meiko, and I took Ronbo to Lanikai Beach for some swimming, snorkeling, and of course, fortress construction.

-Shut up and get to the pictures-

The tide was on its way out when we got there so I started construction right at the tide. The sand was fine and I was able to get the three towers not only fairly tall, but also very thick at the top. Many fortress towers taper at the top, but I was able to get enough good, solid sand all the way up that even the tops of the towers were thick. This gave SF7080 a very solid, sturdy look.

I also put in a nice, thick arch which matched the sturdy appearance of the rest of the fortress.

I wanted to spend part of the day swimming and just hanging out with my brother and Lisa and Meiko so I spent only a small amount of time doing detail work on this one, including, for the hell of it, inscribing my name on the front of one of the towers.

This was the first sand fortress my brother Ronbo had seen in person and he dug it. Low tide was around 3:45 and later, the tide came up high enough to rush through the arch a couple times. It was cool.

We all had a good time at the beach.
